Looking back, it’s funny how this all started with a simple conversation during a family vacation.
We were talking about ways to make the Philippine Theatre UK Facebook page more active, and I casually said I’d be happy to help with the posts. I never imagined that one small “yes” would lead me here
A little while later, Direk asked if I’d like to work on the INVASION Souvenir Program for the Brighton Fringe. I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but once I got started, I realised how much I enjoyed it. It brought out a creative side of me that I didn’t even know I had. Seeing everything come together, from the layouts to the final design, it was so rewarding. It gave me a new skill and, more importantly, something I genuinely love doing.
Outside of PTUK, I work full-time as a Virtual Assistant, so most of my work for PTUK happens during my days off. I’d spend a few hours creating social media posts or working on the souvenir program whenever I had the chance. Sometimes it was tiring, but it never really felt like it because I enjoyed being part of the process and knowing I was contributing in my own way.
Now, here we are, preparing for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It’s exciting to think that what started as volunteering to help with Facebook posts has led to me being part of this incredible journey.
I’m grateful to Direk Ramon Tenoso for trusting me and giving me the chance to explore something new. More than anything, I’m grateful to be part of a team that inspires me to keep learning and creating.
I can’t wait to see what Edinburgh has in store for all of us.
